Waves of Democracy Youth Conference-2011 "SERBI"


Waves of Democracy Serbia 2011 is organised by IUC-Europe and Global Citizen in co-operation with European Movement Serbia. Waves of Democracy 2011 takes place in Belgrade, Serbia. The event starts on June 30 and ends on July 7 2011.
The follow up project in Belgrade 2011 will take its starting-point in the results from the 2010 seminar, but will be more ambitious and structured. It will have 2 major strands:
-          Networking seminar for the newly established network YouCi and other European youth networks, who will be invited to share experiences, best practices and knowledge. A major player in this part of the seminar will be IUC Europe´s partner Global Citizen, who has set up an open innovation virtual platform for global solutions – a unique tool for students, academics and decision – makers.

European Youth Meeting for Sustainable Development 2011"ESTONIA"

 The European Youth Meeting for Sustainable Development 2011 will be held in Tallinn, ESTONIA, from 19 -24th July 2011.
The presentation of the Meeting and the procedure for applying for the European participants could be found in the attached document.
Call for participants was launched on 20th January 2011, with an application deadline of Thursday, 31st March 2011 (12.00 pm CET). All participants must fill the e-application form or doc-application form, to be sent by e-mail to applications@eym2011.eu.

EFIL Volunteers Summer Summit 2011 (Portugal)
At the Volunteer Summer Summit 2011, volunteers from all over Europe and the rest of the world, will have the possibility to develop further European links on personal and organizational levels. It will bring together over 250 people of different cultural, generational, and social backgrounds. This diversity will be an incredible opportunity to see and meet the world and also to bring it back home in the knowledge, experience, new friends and memories acquired.

In the spirit of the European Year of Volunteering, EFIL has chosen the theme "Promoting Multiculturalism through Volunteer Work"for the Volunteer Summer Summit 2011. It gives the framework to promote multiculturalism and informal learning in the AFS/EFIL network, and participants achieve a feeling of belonging to an inclusive volunteer community. Objectives are also to provide training opportunities on both high and basic level, intercultural experiences, networking and sharing.

G8 Youth Summit 2011 "FRANCE"

G8 Youth The G8 Youth Summit is an international conference by youth delegates, which models the original annually held Group of Eight conferences. Participants in the G8 Youth Summit are required to discuss worldwide issues beforehand the original conferences and coming to a conclusion by summarizing the outcomes of the meeting; namely working on writing a Communique. By making the effort of achieving a consensus, the opinions of the participants could be presented as an alternative to the international world today -weaving ideas between the 'Idealistic' and the 'Reality' of the present situations of society.

Wsis Forum 2011 "GENEVA"


ITU, UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP welcome all WSIS Stakeholders to the WSIS Forum 2011 website. WSIS Forum 2011 will be held from 16th to 20th May 2011 and will provide structured opportunities to network, learn and to participate in multi-stakeholder discussions and consultations on WSIS implementation. This event builds upon the tradition of annual WSIS May meetings, and its new format is the result of open consultations with all WSIS Stakeholders.
WSIS Forum 2010 marked the way forward in creating a reflection of the “WSIS spirit” and the euphoria felt during the Geneva and Tunis Summits. WSIS stakeholders participated enthusiastically and eagerly in all the interactive sessions and debates, and the new forward-looking WSIS campaign “Turning Targets into Action” mirrors their ambition to achieve the WSIS targets by 2015.

London Youth Games 2011

The 2011 Balfour Beatty London Youth Games season will see 25 competition days across 30 sports for young people aged 7-18. Last year over 50,000 young people took part from all 33 London boroughs competing in individual, team, boys, girls, able-bodied and disabled events.
